To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION at RM Sothebys' Paris event, 4 - 5 February 2025. rn?140,000 - ?170,000 EUR rnrnFinished in a charming Wedgewood Blue over a Marine Blue leather interiorrnSubject to a comprehensive restoration by the previous owner during the 2000srnBenefits from around ?3,600-worth of servicing and suspension work in October 2024rnRare configuration featuring electronic fuel injection and five-speed transmissionrn rnrn rnrnManufactured from 1960 until 1971, Citroen built 1,365 DS cabriolets (or Decapotable in the manufacturer's native France) with 483 sold as the DS21 variant. The cabriolet was outfitted in the height of luxury, with 15 paint colours, 13 shades of leather upholstery, and three carpet colours to choose from. Engines ranged from 66 horsepower in earlier cars to 141 horsepower in the most potent form.rnrnThe car on offer is an exceptionally rare, fuel-injected DS21 Decapotable. The Citroen was retained by a custodian from 2002 until 2012 and was later acquired by the vendor. Under previous ownership, this Decapotable benefitted from a comprehensive restoration by a marque expert in the Netherlands, with copies of the invoices on file. The DS21 is now presented in Wedgewood Blue with sumptuous Marine Blue leather interior and a matching dark blue mohair soft-top.rnrnEnjoyed by the consigning owner for over a decade, they sent this DS21 Decapotable to marque experts Pallas Auto of Kent, England, in October 2024 for servicing and maintenance work. An oil service was carried out, and four new Michelin XAS tyres were fitted, as well as various ball joints and bearings, for a total bill exceeding ?3,600.
