This striking 1986 Autokraft AC Cobra Mk IV presents the rare opportunity to acquire a fully licensed continuation model of the legendary Cobra lineage. Autokraft acquired the rights to the AC name in 1986, and the car was built in England using the original AC tooling and jigs. The Mk IV was produced in very limited numbersâapproximately 450 units between 1982 and 1987, making it a true rarity. This example retains its aluminum body, independent suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, rack-and-pinion steering and 5-speed manual transmission. Finished with original Autokraft badging, classic Smiths instrumentation and authentic interior appointments, the car is very nearly in its original specificationâaside from subtle, tasteful upgrades and wear that befits a driver of this calibre. Â  Under the hood the car has been upgraded with care and precision. The original Ford 5.0 liter (302 ci) V8 has been enhanced by a highly qualified specialist to deliver roughly 360 hp. Modifications include aluminum cylinder heads with larger valves and ports, a Ford spec 302F roller cam, double roller timing chain set, roller rocker arms, a Ford racing aluminum intake manifold paired with the modified original carburetor, and a complete clutch and flywheel assembly. All original engine components remain with the vehicle. Additional enhancements include ceramic-coated side-exhaust pipes and a classic riveted wood-grain steering wheel. Functionally, the car benefits from fresh TA radial tires, newly serviced fluid systems, turned rotors, newly packed wheel bearings, and replacement front coil-over shocksâensuring it is ready for immediate enjoyment. Â  Documented ownership history is strong: the previous owner was a Ford technical trainer, discovering it via club affiliation, and has maintained its special provenance while performing its mechanical upgrades. Included in the sale are the 1980s large-format glossy sales brochure, wiring diagrams, assorted repair/maintenance receipts, and all original parts, making this car an excellent collector investment. Unlike replica Cobras, this Autokraft Mk IV was built by the same craftsmen, on the same tools and frames as the earlier AC cars, making it a rare âcontinuationâ rather than mere aftermarket build. 1958 AC Aceca-Bristol with Matching Numbers.The very first AC Aceca fitted with a Bristol engine 122 BHP D2 First registered in summer of 1958, this AC Aceca-Bristol is fully matching numbers including its original engine, gearbox, and chassis. The car further benefits from known ownership history, having resided with the second owner from 1966 until 2005 before changing hands to the previous owner. The car was partially disassembled in 1967, and remained so until the culmination of an extensive, sympathetic, high-quality restoration effort in 2014. During restoration it was discovered that the engine had already been rebuilt by Bristol, and that the chassis had been modified to accept Jaguar Mk II wheelsthis charming quirk was deemed to have historical value and is the car's only notable deviation from standard specification. Now delivering a dyno-tuned 134 hp, the car was entered in 2015's AC Owners Club National Concours and promptly won first place within the Aceca Classsubsequent 2016, 2017, and 2018 wins cemented its lofty reputation among AC marque enthusiasts and lovers of fine vintage sports cars, worldwide.As a hardtop version of the AC Ace, the fastback-styled Aceca Coupe debuted at the Earls Court Motor Show in 1954. The Aceca's hatchback body was constructed in hand-formed aluminum over a tubular steel framework, while the tubular chassis was more substantially built than the Ace's. The result was a well-engineered, light in weight and extremely pretty GT car in the best AC tradition. Very few alterations were made to the Ace and Aceca apart from a change of engine for 1956 when the more-powerful 2.0-liter Bristol six-cylinder engine became available. The combination of a fine-handling chassis and a power-to-weight ratio helped the Ace version to numerous successes in production sports car racing, arguably its finest achievement being a 1st-in-class and 7th overall finish at Le Mans in 1959.Chassis no.
