1965 Shelby Cobra CSX4000 Aluminum Body!! This 1965 Shelby Cobra comes with the much desirable Guardsman Blue Paint with Twin Wimbledon White Racing Stripes and Black Interior! Only 553 Pampered Miles!! This stunning classic car comes with a Ford 427 C.I. V8 Engine with Holley Four-Barrel including period correct Turkey Pan as well as a 4-Speed Manual Transmission! The instrumentation and controls are Original style instruments specially manufactured by Shelby American. The interior consists of hand made seats. Fully carpeted floor, center console, hand crafted components finish off the interior. The Shelby CSX4000 Cobra is the most sought after continuation cars in the United States and is recognized in the industry as the leader in 1960's racing legend cars! Such rarity and racing renown has resulted in the original 427 S/C (Semi-Competition) Cobras becoming far too valuable to race or enjoy. Fortunately, Carroll Shelby began in the late 1990s to offer a series of Continuation Cobras. These vehicles bear Shelby CSX serial numbers, are recognized by the Shelby American Automobile Club and tracked in the SAAC Registry and were offered with a Manufacturers Statement of Origin (MSO) from Shelby Automobiles signed by Carroll Shelby himself! The SAAC lists CSX4314 as having a fiberglass body, which is how it was invoiced by Shelby. The aluminum body supplied by famed metal fabricator Bruce Kimmons was installed on CSX4314s rolling chassis and completed by Nostalgia Motors. In late 2002, This Shelby Cobra was purchased through a Shelby dealer called Nostalgia Motorcars of Rock Hill, South Carolina and ordered as a fiberglass CSX4000 series automobile. The original owners intention was to complete the build using an aluminum alloy body by noted craftsman Bruce Kimmins, owner of Kimmins Custom Fabrication in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Nostalgia Motorcars completed the installation of the 427 Ford powertrain and uniquely installed the Bruce Kimmins alloy body. The result is a genuine Shelby Continuation Cobra S/C with a hand-formed aluminum body like the fabulous 427 Cobras of the 1960! Purchased in 2020 from a private seller in York, Nebraska, who according to a Nebraska certificate of title, purchased the Cobra in 1981 with 10,600 actual miles. Records indicate work done by Mike McClusky, McCluskey Ltd, Torrance, California in 2019 and an inspection of the Cobra by Michael McCluskey for Mr. Amsdell in December 2020. A letter dated 12-5-20 from Michael McCluskey to Mr. Amsdell "Re: Inspection of 289 Cobra CSX 2354" accompanies the Lot. No other service records are available. Since the 2020 purchase, the Cobra, as with the rest of the collection, has been stored and on display in Mr. Amsdell's Boca Raton commercial garage as seen in the photos shown here.
