One of 849 built, the Aston Martin Volante is a quintessential expression of British open-top motoring, blending hand-built craftsmanship, muscular performance, and timeless style. Officially known as the Aston Martin V8 Volante, it was introduced in 1978 as a convertible version of the V8 saloon
 
 
As our Volante is a US spec, it comes equipped with handcrafted aluminum bodywork and a four-cam carbureted V-8 engine that produces 260 hp. Mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission, it offers refined yet potent performance, with a 0–60 mph time of about 6.7 seconds—impressive for a luxury convertible of its era.
 
 
The Volante maintained the elegant, aggressive lines of the V8 coupe but added a power-operated fabric soft top for open-air driving. It features a long, low-slung body with a prominent grille, flared wheel arches, and quad headlights—characteristics that give it both presence and poise.
 
 
Inside, the car is all about traditional luxury. It features Connolly Leather upholstery, real wood trim, and a hand-crafted dashboard. The cabin is tailored for comfort on long-distance journeys, with a layout that emphasizes simplicity and elegance over flashy technology.
 
 
Built on a steel platform chassis with independent front suspension and a live rear axle, the Volante prioritizes comfort and composure over sharp handling. Power steering and ventilated disc brakes ensure it remains controllable despite its weight and size.
 
 
The V8 Volante is especially notable for being produced in very limited numbers, adding to its desirability among collectors. As a luxury GT convertible in the truest sense, it appeals to a clientele that values exclusivity, power, and craftsmanship.
