Used McLaren 650S For Sale

Fast forward a year and I have my hands on the McLaren 650S for sale. As the saying goes, a lot changes in just a year. I am old mates with McLaren’s chief test driver Chris Goodwin, and I know he has worked tirelessly to allow the supercar to silence the few select criticisms of its predecessor. His goal was to enhance that connection from driver to car, and just make it faster. So what do I really like about this exotic car? People stare at it like they are seeing something very special, but they’re not quite sure what it is. The cockpit for the driver is selfish. It’s all about me. The carbon-fiber sports seats are the best I have ever sat in. As a top industrial designer once said to me, “Design and technology are the new definitions of luxury.” Well then, that makes the "S" opulence incarnate.

The V-8 3.8-liter turbo is a class leader with 641 horsepower. It’s also an outrageous amount of power to handle, which leads us to the driving experience —the part I liked the most. The core strength of the "S" is a carbon-fiber monocoque that gives the car an immediate advantage in terms of rigidity and ultimate performance. Pair that with the double-wishbone suspension and Formula One developed electronics, and you have a package born to be fast in more ways than one. Driving out of Los Angeles in traffic the street legal racecar is as easy to operate as a sedan. It absorbed the demands of a poor road surface without complaint, yet it was so immediate in its reactions that you never forget this is a car ready to be driven fast.

And driving fast is not hard to do. Switching to Sport, then Track mode made me feel like I was piloting a racecar in terms of both mindset and application. The lack of roll with such a high level of grip allowed me to push harder each lap, constantly modifying my throttle and steering inputs to maximize corner speeds. Trusting in the carbon-ceramic brake package to counter the tremendous straight line speed was so rewarding.

Just like a racecar.
