The Rolls-Royce Corniche Last of Line edition is a rare and poignant tribute to both the Corniche nameplate and the end of an era for Rolls-Royce as it transitioned away from its Crewe-based production under Volkswagen to new ownership by BMW. Marking the final chapter in the Corniche’s long and elegant history, the Last of Line edition embodies traditional British craftsmanship, exclusivity, and timeless luxury—delivered in a car that was already among the most opulent in the world.
 
 
Based on the fifth-generation Corniche introduced in 2000, the Last of Line version was the swan song of the classic, hand-built Rolls-Royce convertible. Originally only 60 units were to be produced, however, only 45 left the historic Crewe factory where they were meticulously constructed—making them some of the last Rolls-Royces built there before production shifted to the new Goodwood facility under BMW ownership in 2003.
 
 
The Corniche Last of Line retains the imposing proportions and stately presence of its standard counterpart, with subtle but meaningful enhancements to distinguish it. Each car is finished in exclusive color combinations, adorned with commemorative badging, and detailed with high-gloss wood veneers, special embroidery, and personalized plaques noting its limited production status. Signature touches included red Rolls-Royce badges &#40;traditionally reserved for the most special models&#41;, and “Last of Line” inscriptions on the door sills and interior trim.
 
 
Under the hood, the Corniche is powered by a 6.75-liter turbocharged V8 engine derived from the Bentley Arnage, producing 325 horsepower and 544 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a smooth 4-speed automatic transmission, the Corniche wasn’t built for speed, but for delivering an effortlessly serene driving experience. Its air suspension system ensured a magic carpet ride, while the insulated fabric roof provided near-coupe levels of quiet when closed.
 
 
Inside, the Last of Line Corniche offers an environment of ultimate indulgence—Connolly leather, Wilton wool carpets, lambswool mats, and hand-finished wood echoed the craftsmanship of a bygone era. Unlike modern luxury cars with touchscreen interfaces and digital displays, the Corniche is entirely analog, focused on tactile quality and visual elegance.
