Used Bentley Continental Flying Spur For Sale

Unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show, the Bentley Flying Spur for sale was unveiled for the 2014 model year. As a large four-door luxury sedan, the car eliminated Continental from its name to distance itself from the two-door coupes and convertibles also offered. Featuring the 616 hp 6.0 liter W12 standard in other cars, the car is also available with a more fuel-efficient and smaller 500 hp 4.0 liter, twin-turbocharged V8.

The exterior aesthetic of the car for sale displays crisper edges at the upper limits of the fenders and design lines, juxtaposed to a more subtle modulation in the open areas of doors, hood and roof. This design approach takes this generation architecture further into the realm of sculpture, where the eye is led deliberately about the auto’s even proportions as it fills its formidable chassis.

Underneath a hide of aluminum and steel, the car features reinforced B-pillars and other structural elements to improve the auto’s level of safety in an accident, as well as a modified suspension to absorb any undesirable lumps from the asphalt. This version of the FS suspension also aids the sound-reducing efforts as it has been softened by 25 percent.

The interior of the Spur in its W12 and V8 iterations has also benefited from sound-deadening with lightweight sound-repressing panels under the floor mats and acoustic glass in the windows. Touch screen access for both drivers and passengers has been integrated as a seamless gateway to the performance and entertainment settings to round out the vastly customizable interior.

Options are always welcome when buying a Bentley, right? Now customers have a new model option they can choose from: the Flying Spur V8 S. This new model sits between the V8 and the flagship W12. It comes with a boost in power to its twin-turbo V8 engine, which now pumps out 521 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque, a modest increase over the standard V8’s 500 hp and 487 lb-ft. This additional muscle powers the V8 S to 0-62 mph in 4.9 seconds, a 0.3-second reduction over the V8.

Bentley made quite a few modifications to the V8 engine and transmission, all of which make for better throttle response and more power at-the-ready when at lower revs. What is most interesting is that even with all of these changes, it still has decent fuel economy, rated at a combined 25.9 mpg.

To compliment the added power, the English automaker has also added a host of optional features. Now available to both the W12 and V8 S models is a semi-aniline hide option, which Bentley states are the highest quality hide available in the automotive industry.” They have also added new straight-fluting on the leather seats, along with a small diamond quilting pattern to the Mulliner Driving Specification.

Choices in the 200-mph four-door club are somewhat limited. This could be due to the fact that back seat passengers aren’t quite as comfortable with the prospect of hitting the double- century mark as the driver is or it could be simply that few manufacturers think they can beat Bentley at their own game. Whatever the reason, for ultra-rapid, ultraluxury transport, the Speed really stands in a class of its own.

Born from the success of the previous generation GT, the Spur has always slipped under the radar better than its two-door brother. That’s probably because its substantial size isn’t quite as noticeable when spread over a four-door body. Even weighing 5,377 pounds, the Speed’s 600 hp and 553 lb-ft enable this sedan to rocket to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds.

Inside, you’ll find all the fine leather, wood, and chrome you’d expect in a large luxury car, plus a large slathering of technology: radar-based cruise control, a 1,100- watt, 15-speaker Naim sound system, and a TV tuner are all on offer.

Beautifully crafted throughout with standard all-wheel drive and an immense amount of features, the V8 offers everything it should. Exclusivity and luxury go hand in hand, leading Bentley Motors to create personalization not just for the driver, but passengers too. A touch screen remote, full entertainment system for the front and rear passenger seats and impeccable hand-crafted leather give exclusivity to passengers and driver alike. There is even the option to add rear-seat DVD players, wireless headphones, LCD screens, and a Wi-Fi hub. For the driver, an infotainment system rests neatly in the center dash and a Naim Premium Audio system surrounds the V8 with 11 phenomenal speakers; yes, heads will turn.

Bentley Flying Spur Sharing a platform with the likes of the Porsche Panamera, the 2020 Bentley Flying Spur pairs the power and speed of a sporty coupe with the appearance and practicality of a sedan. This four-door beauty is the third generation of the Flying Spur sedan and Bentley aims to prove that the third time's the charm. While the Flying Spur retains its turbocharged 6.0-liter W12 engine and its 635-horsepower production, it now puts out 664 pound-foot of torque. A substantial boost from the former 605 pound-foot, the 2020 Flying Spur can reach a top speed of 207 mph. This level of speed is unprecedented for its larger body style; making the Flying Spur the world’s fastest production sedan. Paired with all-wheel-drive, rear-wheel steering, a longer length, and wheelbase, it’s clear that nearly every aspect of the Flying Spur has been renovated. Upgraded safety features such as traffic assist with a 360-degree view of the car, brake assist and self-parking rank highly among drivers but the total overhaul does not end there. An exterior with a retracting Flying B hood ornament, larger headlights, and a more aggressive grille distinguish this model from its predecessor. Inside, the cockpit, dressed in 3-D embossed leather upholstery and split color wood trim, improves driver comfort and exudes opulence in every direction. From the 12.3-inch infotainment system to the more spacious rear seating, even the most subtle changes contrived in the 2020 Flying Spur model do not go unnoticed.
