At the IAA in September 1955, BMW presented its two new flagships, the 507 and the 503. The trade press and the public were enthusiastic.

In contrast to the 507, the sports car designed by Albrecht Graf von Goertz used the classic vertical BMW kidney and offered space for four people.

With its electro-hydraulic soft top and electric windows, it was one of the most modern and luxurious cars of the mid-1950s.

However, with a price of 29,500 DM it was almost three times as expensive as a Porsche 356 and even about 3,000 DM more expensive than the 507!

The number of units for both the convertible and the coupé therefore remained very low.

In the first series 78 and in the second only 58 cabriolets were produced.

Our car was delivered new to the dealer "Europa-Garage Saarbrücken".

According to reports, the first owner was a sales representative from Kaiserslautern.

Further owners can be found in the original documents.

The 503 has been in the current ownership since 1982!

From 1983-1986, the car was completely restored to an unusually high standard for the time. The work is documented in invoices and, for the most part, in photographs.

In the last 40 years the owner enjoyed many beautiful trips and journeys with his 503 Cabriolet. For reasons of age, he is now parting with his classic car.

The vehicle also comes with a custom-made 4-piece set of luggage.
