Please email  or call 1-*number in the description*  About the Firebird:  The Pontiac Firebird is an American automobile that was built and produced by Pontiac from the 1967 to 2002 model years. Designed as a pony car to compete with the Ford Mustang, it was introduced on February 23, 1967, five months after GM's Chevrolet division's platform-sharing Camaro. This also coincided with the release of the 1967 Mercury Cougar, Ford's upscale, platform-sharing version of the Mustang.  The name "Firebird" was also previously used by GM for the General Motors Firebird in the 1950s and early 1960s concept cars.  The first generation Firebird had characteristic Coke bottle styling shared with its cousin, the Chevrolet Camaro. Announcing a Pontiac styling trend, the Firebird's bumpers were integrated into the design of the front end, giving it a more streamlined look than the Camaro. The Firebird's rear "slit" taillights were inspired by the 1966â1967 Pontiac GTO. Both a two-door hardtop and a convertible were offered through the 1969 model year.  The 1967 base model Firebird came equipped with the Pontiac 230ci SOHC inline-six, it was fitted with a one-barrel carburetor and rated at 165HP. The "Sprint" model six came with a four-barrel carburetor, developing 215HP. Most buyers opted for one of three V8s: the 326ci with a two-barrel carburetor producing 250HP, the four-barrel "HO"  326, producing 285HP or the 325HP 400ci from the GTO. All 1967â1968 400 CI engines had throttle restrictors that blocked the carburetors' secondaries from fully opening. A "Ram Air" option was also available, providing functional hood scoops, higher flow heads with stronger valve springs, and a hotter camshaft. Power for the Ram Air package was the same as the conventional 400 HO, but peaked at 5,200 rpm.  The 230ci engines were subsequently enlarged for 1968 to 250ci, the base version developing an increased 175HP using a one-barrel carburetor, and the high-output Sprint version the same 215HP with a four-barrel carburetor. Also for the 1968 model, the 326ci engine was replaced by the Pontiac 350ci V8, which actually displaced 354ci and produced 265HP with a two-barrel carburetor. An HO version of the 350ci with a revised cam was also offered starting in that year, which developed 320HP. Power output of the other engines was increased marginally.  The styling difference from the 1967 to the 1968 model was the addition of federally-mandated side marker lights: for the front of the car, the turn signals were made larger and extended to wrap around the front edges of the car, and on the rear, the Pontiac (V-shaped) Arrowhead logo was added to each side. The front door vent-windows were replaced with a single pane of glass and Astro Ventilation, a fresh-air-inlet system. The 1969 model received a major facelift with a new front-end design but unlike the GTO, it did not have the Endura bumper. The instrument panel and steering wheel were revised. The ignition switch was moved from the dashboard to the steering column with the introduction of GM's new locking ignition switch/steering wheel.  In March 1969, a US$1,083 optional handling package called the "Trans Am performance and appearance package", UPC "WS4", named after the Trans Am Series, was introduced. A total of 689 hardtops and eight convertibles were made.

Originally, the "wraparound" style window that occupied more of the b-pillar was initially supposed to be the design, but problems with the glue and sealing the rear window led to the flat style window being used until the re-designed body in 1975. This style became the look that was to epitomize the F-body styling for the longest period during the Firebird's lifetime. Considered to be the original Muscle Car this GTO has the matching numbers 400ci Engine and a 4-Speed Manual Transmission.  This car is finished in the desirable Verdoro Green over a Green Interior. Features include a black convertible soft top with new glass, a body-colored front bumper, an "airfoil" rear wing, quad headlamps, and dual exhaust outlets that exit below the chrome rear bumper. The first generation of the GTO was the first muscle car produced in the 1960s and the 1970s. The Pontiac GTO is considered by some to have started the trend with all four domestic automakers offering a variety of competing models.  The GTO was selected as the Motor Trend Car of the Year in 1968.  In early 1963, General Motors' management banned divisions from involvement in auto racing. This followed the 1957 voluntary ban on automobile racing that was instituted by the Automobile Manufacturers Association. By the early 1960s, Pontiac's advertising and marketing approach was heavily based on performance. With GM's ban on factory-sponsored racing, Pontiac's managers began to emphasize street performance.  In his autobiography Glory Days, Pontiac chief marketing manager Jim Wangers, who worked for the division's contract advertising and public relations agency, states that John DeLorean, Bill Collins, and Russ Gee were responsible for the GTO's creation.  The GTO disregarded GM's policy limiting the A-body intermediate line to a maximum engine displacement of 330 cu in (5.4 L). But the development team discovered a loophole in the policy which does not restrict large engines to be offered as an option.  By promoting the big-engine option as a special high-performance model, they could appeal to the speed-minded youth market (which had also been recognized by Ford Motor Company's Lee Iacocca, who was at that time preparing the sporty Ford Mustang variant of the second generation Ford Falcon compact).  The name, which was DeLorean's idea, was inspired by the Ferrari 250 GTO, the successful race car. It is an Italian abbreviation for Gran Turismo Omologato ("grand tourer homologated"), which means officially certified for racing in the grand tourer class. In reality, however, the Pontiac GTO was never really a certified Grand Tourer race car. Internally, it was initially called the "Grand Tempest Option" The GTO is one of the fastest cars ever manufactured by Pontiac.  The Tempest model line received another facelift for the 1970 model year. Hidden headlights were deleted in favor of four exposed round headlamps outboard of narrower grille openings. The nose retained the protruding vertical prow theme, although it was less prominent. While the standard Tempest and LeMans had chrome grilles, the GTO retained the Endura urethane cover around the headlamps and grille.  The suspension was upgraded with the addition of a rear anti-roll bar, essentially the same bar as used on the Oldsmobile 442 and Buick Gran Sport. The front anti-roll bar was slightly stiffer. The result was a useful reduction in body lean in turns and a modest reduction of understeer.  Another handling-related improvement was optional variable-ratio power steering. Rather than a fixed ratio of 17.5:1, requiring four turns lock-to-lock, the new system varied its ratio from 14.6:1 to 18.9:1, needing 3.5 turns lock-to-lock. Optional equipment included a four-speed manual transmission, Super Turbine 300 two-speed automatic transmission, a more powerful engine with "Tri-Power" carburetion (three two-barrel Rochester 2G carburetors) rated at 348HP, metallic drum brake linings, limited-slip differential, heavy-duty cooling, ride and handling package, and the usual array of power and convenience accessories. With every available option, the GTO cost about US$4,500 and weighed around 3,500lbs. A tachometer was optional, and was placed in the far right dial on the dash.  Car and Driver incited controversy when it mentioned that a GTO, which had supposedly been tuned with the "Bobcat" kit offered by Ace Wilson's Royal Pontiac of Royal Oak, Michigan, was clocked at a quarter mile time of 12.8 seconds and a trap speed of 112 mph on racing slicks.  Later reports strongly suggest that the Car and Driver GTOs were equipped with a larger 421 cu in engine that was optional in full-sized Pontiacs. Since the two engines were difficult to distinguish externally, the subterfuge was not immediately obvious.  In Jim Wangers' Glory Days he admitted after three decades of denial that the red drag strip GTO had its engine swapped with a 421 Bobcat unit. Since the car was damaged during the testing, and Wangers did not want anyone looking under the hood, he used the blue road course GTO to flat tow the red GTO 1,500 miles back to Detroit.
