1955 – 1957 Generation Two: Generation two of Chevrolet Bel-Air was launched back in 1955 to mark an even more stylish and powerful era. It came with the following updated features: Ferrari-inspired grille, Chrome fender spears, Chrome headliner bands for hardtops, Stainless window openings.

For the first time, Bel-Air came with a V8 engine that included 4.6L V8, 4.3L V8, 3.9L I6, 3.5L I6. In this model, GM also included two-speed optional power glide transmission to its previously added three-speed automatic and manual selection. Both of the V8 models also offered an optional air conditioning feature for the very first time.

The 1956 Bel-Air also featured a full-width grille and a facelift along with a two-tone treatment of bodyside. It also came with a seat belt feature, but according to the stats, only eight percent of the people opt for the models with this feature.

The Bel-Air model, which was launched in 1957, is still regarded as one of the most successful and popular iterations.
