This vehicle is being sold at the Indy Fall Special 2023 as Lot No. F70. One-of-a-kind fire department emergency Corvair 95 known as the "FireBrier"- In service of the Malden-West Camp Fire Department in Saugerties, New York from September 1963 until 1987- 2-year comprehensive restoration completed in 2018- Believed to be the only existing Corvair-95 emergency vehicle restored to its original state- 8-door van- Professionally rebuilt original matching numbers 145/102 HP COPO 9552A Turbo-Air 6-cylinder engine- Rebuilt 4-speed manual transmission- Cardinal Red exterior- Fawn interior- Lettering is an exact reproduction based upon digitized tracings- Numbered and dated housing components are original, including case, heads, differential, transmission and distributor- During the restoration process the Corvair 95 was stripped to bare metal, with rusted areas replaced with welded new metal- Thoroughly documented restoration through photographs and descriptions on the Corvair Center Forum- The restoration information has been condensed into a printed book and pdf document- Original equipment, photographs, and historical information were provided by members of the Malden-West Camp Fire department- Vintage photographs show the dedication at the Firehouse with the original first driver as well as later years- Historical account prepared from newspaper articles of the Malden-West Camp Fire Department, the purchase of the van, some of its actual day-to-day uses and fire runs- Featured on the cover of the "Corsa Communique"- Also featured in an article in the "VCCA G & D"- Folded and unfolded commercial paper models of the "FireBrier" included- Sold with Lot F70.1 an American Hauler custom 8.5x20-foot enclosed trailer included- The trailer has a Windstar Silver exterior with a White interior- The dimensions and position of doors are custom designed for the Firebrier- The trailer features a spare tire, ratchet straps, a hitch and door locks
