1957 Ford Thunderbird, S/N E7FH395687, Thunderbird Bronze with bronze interior, tan canvas soft top.  312-cid, 270-hp V-8 with two four-barrel carburetors and 3 speed manual transmission with overdrive.  E-Code performance option is the “must have” option in these final versions of the first series T-Birds…and this “E-Bird” was one of the very last manufactured and was sold new in California where is has spent almost its entire 65 years.  Fully and expertly frame-off rotisserie restored in the late 80’s this Thunderbird shows just like it did when it won multiple Gold Medallion awards at the Thunderbird shows and many other awards at other shows.  This T-Bird has it all…a great and known local provenance, a professional, award-winning restoration, proven drivability and only 3 loving owners from new.

We have just added to our extensive exotic car inventory a 1957 Ford Thunderbird in Sun Gold with Raven Black and Colonial White upholstery and only 56,183 miles. This Thunderbird is loaded with: RARE 312ci V8 with dual 4bbl carburetors, 3 speed Fordomatic transmission, engine dress up kit, positive action windshield wipers, Swift Sure power brakes, rear fender skirts, tonneau cover, , two sets of wheels, white sidewall tires, removable hardtop, copy of the Eminger invoice, town and country AM radio, dual exterior mirrors, floor mats and much more.  This is a VERY late car with an invoice date of 11/22/1957 (Ford kept production going into the 1958 model year to accommodate demand) and several colors were switched out in September to 1958 colors. iLUSSO in Costa Mesa, CA is proud to offer this 1957 FORD THUNDERBIRD!  It is finished in metallic silver over black leather and is powered by a 312ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a body-color porthole hardtop, rear fender skirts, chrome 15 wheels, power-assisted steering and brakes, AutoMeter instrumentation, a heater, and a retro-style stereo. The body was disassembled, stripped, and painted in metallic silver during current ownership. Equipment includes a suede-lined removable hardtop, rear fender skirts, an egg-crate grille, and dual exhaust outlets that exit through the chrome rear bumper. The cabin features a bench seat trimmed in black leather upholstery, and the matching carpets are protected by Thunderbird-branded floor mats. Equipment includes a heater, engine-turned trim, a leather dash pad, and a retro-style stereo. An aftermarket steering wheel sits ahead of AutoMeter vintage-look instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer indicates 235 miles, all of which were added during current ownership following completion of the build. Total mileage is unknown (TMU). The 312ci Y-block V8 drives the rear wheels through a Ford-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission. The engine is equipped with a single Holley four-barrel carburetor, and an Edelbrock dual-quad intake manifold is included in the sale. A photo album documenting the refurbishment is included in the sale, along with a rolling hardtop stand and spare parts.

The collection of Mr. Barry Amsdell, Boca Raton, Florida. Purchased used in 2013 from a Charlotte, North Carolina dealer with 1937 (not actual) miles. As reported in the listing of the Thunderbird by the dealer, the Thunderbird was originally exported to Italy and was there until approximately 1994 when it returned to the US and eventually being restored by the experts at Hill's Automotive in Racine, Ohio. Since the 2013 purchase, the Thunderbird, as with the rest of the collection, has been stored and on display in Mr. Amdell's Boca Raton commercial garage, as seen in the photos shown here. Extensive records regarding the restoration and transporting to the US accompany the Lot. Amazingly, the original 1957 invoice No. 293698 survives and accompanies this Lot.
