*1964 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Coupe*Â The Chevrolet Chevelle was General Motorsâ entry into the quickly expanding mid-size market. Debuting in 1963 for the 1964 model year, the Chevelle went on to become one of the brandâs most beloved cars thanks to its smaller size, and ability to fit some of Chevroletâs most potent engines under the hood. This 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS coupe was delivered new to Alan Green Chevrolet of Seattle, WA and was nicely customized by one of the previous owners.Â Finished in its original shade of Goodwood Yellow, this Chevelle was nicely outfitted from the factory with a 4-speed manual, Positraction rear end, 300 horsepower 327ci V8 as well as heavy duty brakes and cooling systems. Taking that ethos, a previous owner brought this 1960s performance car up to 21st century levels. From the exterior, it looks like a very nicely kept stock Chevelle. But when you see the larger 18-inch Rallye wheels wrapped in sticky Bridgestone Potenza tires sitting in front of 4-wheel CPP disc brakes, you realize there is more beneath the surface.Â Inside the car, black vinyl covers the seats, dash and door cards, and a large console separates the two front bucket seats. Drop down into the driverâs seat and you are met by a 3-spoke billet steering wheel, which frames some modern Dakota Digital gauges, and to your right sits a Hurst shifter with a white cue-ball shift knob on top. A Retro radio with AM/FM capabilities sits in the dash and a subwoofer has been added to the sound system.Â Under the hood is where things get really interesting. A very nicely finished 6.2-liter LS3 V8, topped by a Holley Sniper EFI intake manifold and brushed aluminum valve covers. Power is estimated to be around 480 hp, and reliability is greatly improved too thanks to the fuel injection and GM Performance wiring harness and serpentine belt systems. Stainless steel shorty headers breathe into a set of Flowmaster Super 40 mufflers for a great noise, and in place of the original 4-speed manual sits a Tremec Magnum 6-speed manual. Out back sits a Ford 9-inch rear end with Positraction 3.51 rear gears. To go with all this extra power, the chassis has been upgraded with Global West A-arms up front, Viking double adjustable coilovers, a 1 Â¼â hollow sway bar and 4-bar link with polly bushings. The car now goes, turns and stops remarkably well for a car of its age.Â If youâre on the hunt for a classic with the performance of a modern car, this Chevelle could be just what youâre looking for. With its LS V8, electronic fuel injection and modern wiring, it will prove to be dependable, as well as a ton of fun behind the wheel. The 283 runs smooth and effortlessly, power steering and brakes make it easy to drive.  EXTERIOR: It's a handsome design. The body and paint are older but still shows very well. The body has no rust or damage showing and it fits nice. It was repainted Crocus Yellow, it is smooth and shiny. The chrome sparkles on this car, it has dual bowtie mirrors and a rear mount antenna. The black convertible top still looks fresh. The 15 inch polished Torque Thrust wheels with BFG tires give a muscular look.  INTERIOR: It's a nice looking interior too, I like the beige and fawn color. It has reproduction upholstery, door panels, armrests, carpet and floormats. It also has an optional padded dash in great shape. The chrome instrument panel shines bright and a retro stereo fits in the factory hole. The sporty bucket seats have factory seatbelts too.  ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has its correct numbers matching 283 V8. It is completely stock: manifolds, Chevrolet script valve covers, two barrel carb, air cleaner, pulleys etc. It runs smooth, the crank was reground. All the components look proper, it features power steering and new power brakes. The wiper motor is new and the squirters are hooked up. It's detailed and painted very nicely.  TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk was painted really nice, weather strip is replaced. Inside is solid metal with a neatly applied gray spatter finish. It is complete with a jack and spare assembly.  UNDERSIDE: It just finished its body off the frame restoration, underneath was completely restored. All the suspension and steering were completely rebuilt and detailed. All new fuel system including the tank and lines. It has a custom dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. The brakes have been rebuilt, new lines and e-brake assembly. Looking up at the motor it is fresh Chevy orange with a new starter. It was upgraded to a Turbo 350 automatic trans. The 10 bolt rearend has the seals and lube replaced. It is rust free because it has a complete new floor pan with braces and inner rockers just installed. Underside of this car is detailed.  SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation.
