Used Ferrari 550 Barchetta For Sale

The Ferrari Barchetta convertible is the two-seater roadster variant of the Ferrari 550 Maranello. The Ferrari 550 Barchetta for sale is one of 448 numbered, special edition, open-top sports cars unveiled at the Paris Show in 2001 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Pininfarina, Ferrari’s coachbuilder and automobile stylist. Each Barchetta bears a plaque with Sergio Pininfarina’s signature on the dash in his honor.

The 550 Barchetta convertible can go from 0-60 in 4.4 seconds and travels up to 186 mph. Apart from a small reduction in speed thanks to its open-top design, the Barchetta shares most of the same underpinnings as the coupe. The 2001 Ferrari 550 Barchetta for sale only features a few tweaks—mainly a shorter, more aerodynamic windshield, roll-over hoops behind the seats for added safety, exclusive 19" wheels, and a longer rear section for a smoother overall design. Consequently, the Barchetta has more storage space than the coupe, which can already hold enough luggage for a weekend road trip for two.

Like the Ferrari 550 Maranello, the Ferrari Barchetta for sale has a naturally aspirated 5.5L V-12 478-horsepower front-engine with rear-wheel-drive. It comes with a standard six-speed manual transmission. For tight steering, the double-wishbone suspension has coaxial coil springs and gas-filled telescopic shock absorbers on all four corners. Anti-roll bars in the front and rear provide added safety.

The Ferrari 550 Barchetta for sale is designed to be driven without a top. It includes a delicate cloth soft top that is only safe up to 70mph, essentially just enough to shield you from the rain.

The last of the rare Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina left the factory in December 2001. Four additional cars were added to the planned production run of 444 due to superstitions about the number 4 in the Japanese market. Still, there are only 448 Ferrari 550 Barchetta in the USA or abroad, making these sleek sportscars a prized commodity that will continue to hold their value and place as one of Ferrari's quintessentially Italian sports cars. The Ferrari 550 Barchetta remains the most desirable variant of the 550 series, coveted for both its classic, timeless good looks, and thrilling top-down driving experience.
