During its production run, there were quite a few variants of the Ferrari 599 GTB for sale to enthusiasts. Perhaps most notable is the 2011 edition, the 599 60F1. It was built to commemorate 60 years of F1 wins for the marque, the first of which was at Silverstone in 1951, where Froilan Gonzalez sat behind the wheel. Featuring tougher suspension, stiffer anti-roll bars, and shortened springs, its performance was harder-geared for the track. Three color options were made available as well, each commemorating the colors worn by an F1 racecar with a monumental victory.

At the time of its release, it was the most powerful engine created, and they didn’t even need to use turbochargers. Featuring a 6.0-liter Tipo F140 C V12 engine, the Fiorano acted as the flagship model between 2006 and 2012.

First unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show in February of 2006, the two-seater powerhouse boasted a stunning visual design with elegant lines, all of which assist in its keen aerodynamic abilities. Rated at 612 hp and 448 lb-ft, the engine already produced enough power for impressive performance, but for this car to truly qualify as a flagship for such a respected marque, it must go to every end possible to enhance performance by even as little as .001 seconds. As a result, 0-62 mph is achieved in 3.7 seconds, 0-124 mph in 11.0 seconds, and a top speed of 205 mph is possible.

The Fiorano of this model’s name is taken from the famed Fiorano circuit, where Ferrari takes its new vehicles out to be tested before their official release. The GTB comes from Gran Turismo Berlinetta, while the 599 refers to the engine’s total displacement divided by ten.
