Used Ferrari F355 For Sale

This is the stepping-off point for a new generation of sports cars. Now a used Ferrari F355 for sale can be found with low miles and in excellent condition. Be sure to validate all service records. In the racing realm, Ferrari offered a $30,000 Challenge option, originally installed by dealers. As demand for the Challenge option increased, the weight reduction and race-oriented modifications increased at the factory level, leaving only final touches, such as the installation of rear wings, for the dealer.

Originally introduced in 1994 and built until 1999, the classic Ferrari F355 Berlinetta for sale was the first in a successful series of F355 models. Nestled with a low center of gravity and central weight distribution, the mid-mounted 3.5 liter, 375 hp V8 pushes the Berlinetta from 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 183 mph. With a steel monocoque and tubular aluminum front and rear subframes, the structure of the F355 provides a stiff and rigid base for a refined and alluring body. More than 1,300 hours were spent in the wind tunnel to hone and improve the F355’s aerodynamics and top speed, resulting in its unique appearance.

Special attention was paid to making this sports car for sale capable of handling both high performance and daily settings. Improved low-end gear ratios and other tweaks make the F355 a far more pleasant driver in city traffic, highway, and track-day settings. Transmission options available on the F355 that improved this driveability are a six-speed manual or an F-1 style paddle-shift automatic. Over the course of the Berlinetta’s production, 3,829 cars were produced with the six-speed option and 1,042 in the F-1 configuration.

In 1995, the open-topped Spider was introduced after having spent approximately 1,800 hours in the wind tunnel with the combined result of aerodynamic smoothness and elegance in equal parts. Proving to be the second most popular F355 model after the Berlinetta, the Spider sold 3,717 units compared to the hard top's 4,871. The last of the Targa-topped Ferraris of the 90s, the F355 GTS F1 sold in limited numbers, topping out at 2,577 units by the end of the Berlinetta based production run.
