Used Porsche GT2 For Sale
Interested parties can find a Porsche GT2 for sale, though it might be a bit more difficult than finding other 911 models. This 911 was short-lived, low production example with only 194 units sold in the United States. The Porsche GT2 price ranges from the low $100,000s to mid $200,000s.
When Porsche chooses to compete in GT2 racing, the FIA mandates a number of production models to be sold for homologation. The series does not allow all-wheel drive, so the transfer case and front axles are omitted. With no limits on forced induction, the 911 GT2 has much larger turbochargers than the 911 Turbo.
From 1993 to 2012, the GT2 was the most expensive and highest trim level 911 available. Though it was modeled after the 911 Turbo, the GT2 offered several upgrades, which included a more powerful engine, larger brakes, rear-wheel drive as opposed to all-wheel drive and a stiffer suspension, which allowed for better handling around corners.
As far as specifications are concerned, the Porsche features a 3.6-liter flat-6 engine with twin turbochargers. This turbocharged engine comes in at 523 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque, which allows for an acceleration of 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. The road car also features a six-speed manual transmission. Aesthetically, the 911 GT2 sports a revised front lip and rear wing, with the wing sporting two air inlets. Additionally, the car is equipped with titanium exhaust pipes.
A new 911 GT2 is being developed for 2018 with the largest rear spoiler Porsche has ever produced, which could increase the chances of finding a used Porsche 911 GT2 in the near future.
