Used Porsche 935 For Sale
The Porsche 935 for sale is a modern revival of the racing champion originally introduced by Porsche in 1976 as the factory racing version of the Porsche 911 Turbo. The new Porsche 935 is based on the 991 GT2 RS and looks a lot like the 935/78 version of the original. Sharp bodywork details pay tribute to the original in a refreshing, aggressive style.
The original Porsche 935 became a winning race-ready factory model with a storied legacy, winning an impressive 123 of the 370 major endurance races in which it competed in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The Porsche 935 was a stunning combination of several high-performance components that made it a formidable competitor at many of the major races. It wasn’t until the FIA changed the rules in 1982 that the Porsche 935 dropped out of favor. Before then, its 3.3 Type 935 twin-turbocharged flat-six engine with mechanical fuel injection made the Porsche 935 the one to beat.
In 1979, Kremer Racing, based in Cologne, Germany, released the modified Porsche 935 K3, short for Kremer Type 3. That year, Klaus Ludwig managed to drive the 935 K3 to a dramatic Le Mans win in heavy rain, handily beating the other prototypes. With such a long list of wins, it made sense for Porsche to bring this car back in 2018.
The 2019 Porsche 935 for sale is part of a limited production run of just 77 track-only vehicles set to be delivered beginning in June of 2019. The new Porsche 935 sports an impressive interior with a laminated wood design gearshift lever and carbon fiber steering wheel. It is available in eight iconic Porsche liveries inspired by the original design, including a Kremer-themed tribute. It has a striking rear wing and extended, exaggerated bodywork, including a shiny titanium exhaust that makes this car unmistakable.
True to its racing roots, the Porsche 935 Turbo comes with a safety cage, racing bucket seat with six-point safety harness, fire extinguisher kit, air jack, and escape hutch—the full kit really. Understandably, a passenger seat is optional.
As sleek as the 2019 Porsche 935 looks, it’s no slouch. It’s powered by the 691 hp twin-turbo flat-six engine found in the GT2 RS and sports a seven-speed PDK transmission all housed within an aluminum/steel composite body. Thanks to pervasive Kevlar and carbon fiber, the Porsche 935 is very lightweight. That translates to a ridiculous 211 mph max speed and a 0-62mph acceleration time of just 2.9 seconds.
Porsche Stability Management with traction control completes the feature line-up to make this cool car track-ready, remarkably responsive, and easy to drive. 6-piston aluminum monobloc racing front calipers with 15-inch disc brakes add to this Porsche’s unparalleled performance capability.
All of that Porsche precision engineering comes with a hefty price tag. The Porsche 935 MSRP, if you're one of the 77 lucky enough to get your hands on one, is approaching seven figures. With such a limited production run for such a phenomenal car, don’t be surprised if the Porsche 935 price climbs sharply.
